Bayelsa State Prepares for Hotly Contested Governorship Election

In a flurry of political activity and anticipation, Bayelsa State is gearing up for its forthcoming governorship election. With the political landscape in the state incredibly charged, this election promises to be one of the most closely contested in recent times. As the race heats up, both major parties are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for power and control over the state's affairs.

In an interview with newsmen and journalist Professor Benjamin O. Okaba, the president of the Ijaw National Congress  (INC) said the forthcoming election is expected to be a Peaceful, free and fair one and that the government has done its own bit.

In the quest for a peaceful election, He proposed that the INEC are not security agencies and with such , they have just limited role to play by providing materials as regulatory bodies to make the election a credible one.

According the Journalist, Christy David the ICC media aid who says Prof. Okaba stated that what is Paramount to this election is the capacity for development due to the fact that Bayelsa is not a tribal state, leadership is the key.

He advice  people to " vote who can deliver, sustain peace in Bayelsa state, be security conscious and transform the state. Don't sell your conscience".
