The Sudden Invasion Of Israel By Hamas And A Reprisal Attack By Israel. A Call For Global Reflection, Intervention And Negotiation
The militant group of Hamas in Palestine lunched a calamitous assault of Israel on Saturday 7th October, 2023 and murdered more than 1,400 Israeli and the vast majority of them civilian, plunging the nationalist movement into global notoriety.
The reason of this atrocious attack on Israel is inexplicable but with a fluency excuse by the militant group that their assault was premise on a response to Israel attack on women and the desecration of the Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem and their ongoing siege in Gaza.
Hamas is an acronym for Islamic Resistance movement, which also means a “Zeal in Arabic”. This group have earlier been designated a terrorist organization by the USA, Japan, Australia, Israel and even European Union.
This unprovoked recent attack on a sovereign nation of Israel raises question about the history, motivation and future of Hamas, because the militant Palestinian group co-ordinated and orchestrated this unprecedented attack, killing many and rendering many homeless and also held hundreds of civilians, soldiers and foreign national hostage.

The sudden and bloody shattering of a rare interregnum of calm and hope for diplomatic breakthrough in the middle east is already shifting calculations to Israel, united States, the Arab world and across the globe, which calls for an urgent and immediate attention by the international community like the UN, EU, AU and of course the middle east.
The rocket attack, hostage taking and mass killing inside Israel came as a shock in the time when the global order was already at a pivot point with the post-cold war era swept away by Russia invasion of Ukraine and China’s super power ascent.
The raw shock over this happening proven that, the scene of gunned down civilians at an Israel’s music festival, wrenching account of family torned apart calls for sober reflection and indeed, the sense of emotional violation will condition Israel’s response to continue the bombardment and will also influence how the rest of the world react to its fight back.
The fierce attack of Israel reprisal on Gaza will equally transfix and captivate the world.
A close perspective and observation to this ongoing impasse between Israel and Hamas shows that deeper war is oncoming, and as matter of concern, which calls for immediate action of prompt intervention by all and sundry, mostly the United Nations, European Union, African Union and Arab league and the entire International Community for a Unanimous mandate and focus on Peaceful mediation and resolution of this crisis across the globe, in order to avert the impending and unforeseen doom, as a resultant consequence of the ongoing and possible escalation of the war, for a sustainable development.
Peace is the hallmark of development and symbols of both national and international Unity among Nations of the world. It is a catalyst for economic development and social interactions, because without peace, no meaningful growth can be achieve and sustained.
